TRAVELERS GUARANTEE COMPANY OF CANADA is hiring for a Project Analyst. He or she will be reporting to the National Vice President of Developer Surety. He or she will be extending credit to multi-family residential builders and developers in Ontario through a surety facility.
Job Specifications:

Analyzes financial and construction information as well as the credit worthiness of the residential builder/developer clients and their affiliates, and provides recommendations on the issuance of TARION Bonds and Deposit Insurance facilities

Manages a builder/developer's portfolio of projects from marketing to construction, and through the warranty period, engaging in frequent site visits to monitor projects' progress

Responsible for the framework of prudent underwriting policies and practices,

Recommends appropriate risk mitigating steps to help control risk on ongoing condominium projects

Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the residential real estate market, other Travelers' corporate products/services and cultivates business relationships with builders/developers, construction lenders, cost consultants, lawyers and other industry personnel

Demonstrates a sense-of-urgency in prioritizing tasks and responds to builder/developers and other industry personnel in a clear and concise manner, demonstrating a high quality of customer service

Actively participates as a team member through discussing underwriting concerns and issues with other team members and the National Vice President
Job Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's degree and/or technologist degree in a related discipline. Equivalent combinations of experience, training and education will be considered.

Awareness with the Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act, the Condominium Act, 1998, land and residential development costs in the Greater Toronto Area, and construction lending practices

Understanding of the Tarion Warranty Corporation's mandate and requirements for builders/developers

Ability to read and comprehend budgets and financial statements.

Understanding of construction drawings and plans would be an asset, though not a requirement

Strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

Develop strong customer service skills and productive client relationships in support of business objectives

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office
